Some people just know how to age gracefully!

In contrast, Tim Wakefield shut out the Phillies for eight innings Sunday.

Pretty damn good game for an old man! And against Philly.

And Dice K just trying to get some of us, me included, to eat our words.  Saturday night and Sunday afternoon were the kind of games we have grown (over the past few years) to expect from our team.  They looked great. I must admit I didn’t watch too much of either game, weekend schdule kept me pretty busy all weekend, but I kept my ears open and sneaked a peek when possible.

Papi didn’t look to bad on 1st base Saturday, but I’m sure he is relieved it dosen’t happen too often.

I’d like to thank the Mets for a real good game last night. That would be the one where they beat C.C. and got the win against the Yankees.  Also kudo’s to Arod for striking out with the bases loaded.  Now New York knows how Papi felt friday night. Strange how that kind of thing can happen to the best.

Now down to Tampa. Lets hope the good Mojo just keeps on happening!

Sox win/ and Mikie sounds off

Late game, long game. But when the end result goes our way it’s always worth it. It’s always a little sweeter when we win in Yankee Stadium.

Lowell was approached by reporters regarding being left out of the lineup today, and when he spoke the truth about the way he feels ( and who wouldn’t in his position) the media rips him up one side and down the other.  Going from a Golden Glove player to sitting on the bench and then when Tito gets desperate having him pitch hit, what can you expect from him.  He sits cold and then they expect miracles.

Mike wants to play, if he can’t play then they should just release him and stop the torture. I love Mike, he has been my favorite player for years, but I am feeling his pain.  And don’t be making up lies about him, he has the right to get angry!  He hasn’t asked for a Trade or Release, but the Media just won’t let up. They approched him, not the other way around. He’s not Manny!

SQUEAKY WHEEL: Veteran Mike Lowell,...

Back home tonight for two games with Minn. Then on the road again to Philly and then Tampa.  What a screwed up schedule. It’s seems hard enough to win this season, and MLB is not making it any easier!

Theo can’t wait for next year!

He is not alone, I really didn’t enjoy this past Season, not just because the Sox didn’t make it into the World Series, but for a lot of reasons. One of the biggest being Jerry Remy.  I missed him in the booth.  Just wasn’t the same with Eck. I am really praying that Jerry is fine and gets to announce all the games next year.'It's still early in the...

I loved reading that Big Papi wants to play in Boston until his carreer is over. Also that Theo thinks he is looking just fine.

Now if Theo and the Guys can get it together and sign Jason Bay.

Yes I have avoided mentioning the Yankees winning the World Series.  The first time in 9 years. I guess I’m not a good sport, I really believe for all the money they pay their team they should be winning it every year. I’m really sorry Pedro didn’t pull last night’s game off, it would have been a great way to end his carreer.

Well now the Phillies can join the rest of us and just say ” there’s always next year”!

Ya gotta love him!

I’m pretty sure that every Boston fan out there can feel proud that I’m going to try to beat the Yankees, and I’m going to give just the same effort I always did for them. They’re special fans, and they will always have my respect.(Pedro Martinez)

PRIME TIME: Pedro Martinez is...

I really didn’t care much about the World Series this year.  The Red Sox are not playing, so what the heck, too little time to watch games I don’t really care about. Except, tonight, Pedro is back in Yankee Stadium!  With a win tonight, Pitching against Pettitte who didn’t get enough rest, would force a 7th game.

Who knows what could happen if they get into a 7th game, even if it is at Yankee Stadium.

The Phillies are Pumped!! I hope this turns out to be one of the all time Great Games!

PV’s Petey, go get them!

1 to 1 and on to Philly!

Pedro looked really good last night. Yes I know he lost the game on two home runs he gave out.  And A.J. was just a little better, but for and old guy, Pedro still has his stuff! 7 solid innings, what more could you ask for?Pedro Martinez will get the start for Phillies in tonight's Game 2 of the World Series against his old nemesis, the New York Yankees. In 32 games against the Yankees -- most of which came during his seven brilliant seasons with the Red Sox -- Martinez is 11-11 with a 3.20 ERA in the regular season, and 1-2 with a 4.72 ERA in six postseason appearances. But the numbers don't tell the whole story -- some of Martinez's greatest victories and most bitter disappointments have come against the team he will face tonight. Here's a look back at his career against the Yankees.

When he came off the field in the seventh, with the crowd chanting, “Who’s Your Daddy?” Martinez just smiled. He had to say something to a man in the stands who was holding his daughter in one arm and a beer in another, who, according to Martinez, was saying all kinds of nasty things.

“I said, ‘You have your little girl. I’m a father. I have a little girl. You have to be ashamed. How can you be so dumb?’ ” Martinez recalled.(taken from Nick Cafardo, without permission, of the Boston Globe)

Pedro is still one classy guy! And Yankee Fans, well they speak for themselves.

Okay Philly, no more fooling around, let’s get it together and take the next 3 to end it!

I wish it were the Red Sox: (

Pedro Martinez SP, Philadelphia Phillies 2008 statistics: W-L ERA IP K BB 5-6 5.61 109 87 44 He punched his Hall of Fame ticket in his seven years in Boston, winning two of his three Cy Youngs, making four of his eight All-Star appearances, leading the league in strikeouts three times, and winning his only World Series title. But Martinez, who signed a four-year deal with the Mets after the 2004 season, pitched just one full season in New York made only nine starts last season due to groin and shoulder problems. Although the Dominican Republic fell during the first round of the World Baseball Classic, Martinez made his case to MLB clubs after pitching six shutout innings in two games, allowing only one hit. Pedro signed a one-year deal with the Phillies and was introduced to the media on July 15. He will launch his Phillies career on the 15-day disabled list.

I miss Pedro. It’s great that his team and not Manny’s is going to be in the World Series!

Even if Pedro does not play, hopefully he will walk away with another Ring!
