Waiting for truck day!

Not much baseball news, but thought a few nice pictures of past players would be nice.

Brian Daubach

Brian Daubach The former first baseman retired after spending 2006 with St. Louis's Triple A club, but his best years were in Boston. The popular Daubach averaged approximately 20 homers and 75 RBIs in four years with the Sox (1999-2002). He returned to Boston for the 2004 season, though he was no longer on the team when the Sox won the World Series.Dauber is now the manager of the American Defenders of New Hampshire in the Can-Am League. The Defenders are run by former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette.

Nomar Garciaparra 3B/SS, Free agent 2009 statistics: Avg. HRs RBIs Runs SLG .281 3 16 17 .388 The 1997 Rookie of the Year provided Red Sox fans with some of their best memories in the time after The Rocket and before The Curse was broken, winning back to back batting titles in 1999 and 2000. Injuries robbed him of some of his effectiveness, but he was the National League Comeback Player of the Year in 2006 with the Dodgers. He signed with the A's, where he joined fellow Sox alum Orlando Cabrera, who replaced him as Boston's shortstop in 2004, and spent some time on the disabled list early last season. On July 6, Garciaparra returned to Boston for the first time as a visiting player.

Gabe Kapler

Gabe Kapler OF, Tampa Bay Rays 2009 statistics: Avg. He retired and managed the Sox' Class A affiliate in Greenville, N.C. in 2007 before returning to the majors with Milwaukee last year. He signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay in January of 2009 and added on an additional year to the contract in October.
