Wild Card looks pretty good!

I dozed off for a while last night, then woke up to the fans yelling, we were rallying in the 8th, it looked pretty good for us, and we did come pretty damn close.  But what did happen was great, we clinched the AL Wild Card.Tim Wakefield was all smiles while talking to the media outside of the clubhouse. In what could be his last year Tim Wakefield is very happy the team made the Wild Card!J.D. Drew was welcomed at the plate by David Ortiz after his three-run home run cut the Toronto lead to 8-7 in the eighth inning.8th inning rally J.D. gets a hug from Big Papi after hitting a 3 run home run!Red Sox slugger Jason Bay also made an appearance after the celebration in the clubhouse.Jason Bay looking very happy to be going to the playoffs!

I hate the end of the season, summer gone, much too fast. But I love the excitement of the playoffs.

Just 5 more games to the regular season. Let's just hope everyone has time to get healthy in the next week.

And how about that David Ortiz!! 28 home runs and 95 rbi's!  Who ever would have gussed?

It's down to one game for us to grab the wild card, let's make it happen tonight.

Jason

I've heard so many negative things about Jason, I don't know where to start.  So typical of sports. As soon as you have a bad year everyone forgets all the good you did in prior years.

My husband was never a fan of Jasons, I always was. Yeah I saw the 7 bases stolen on him Friday night. He has always been a catcher they love to run on. But, ask any pitcher that has had him catch for him, (except maybe Wakefield). He is the Best.

Be it what it may, maybe his knees are gone, maybe some of his heart is gone, but he still calls one hell of a game.

Do I want him catching the playoffs? Not all of the time, but Lester, definetly.

If this is going to be Tek's last year behind the plate, then the Sox should pick him up as an advisor to the pitchers.  They need someone like him to teach the other Catchers how to call games.

Yeah, I know it's just a rant. I'm as frustrated as everyone else that we gave the Yankees a sweep this weekend. But the year is looking an awful lot like 2004.

Toronto the next 3 games.  Let's wrap this thing up.

Tonight's the Night!

Who would have ever thought 2 months ago that Big Papi would have 26 home runs before the end of this season? Well I did, I never stopped believing. So when I hear the sportcasters say those things it irritates me.  Papi just got off to a slow start, and all that steroid crap didn't help. But he is back in the groove. And what better time? Tonight we start the last series of the year with the New York Yankees.  It should be pretty exciting Baseball. And I am really looking forward to it.

I missed most of this week, not feeling good and just couldn't stay up to watch TV. But I feel better and besides it's the Yankees.  The only bad thing is Eck will be the color announcer. I don't know how much of that I can take. I may watch the game with no volume.

Lester starts tonight, Good Luck Jon.

2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Thanks to my I.T. people for getting me back on line. You guys are the Best

Down to Baltimore tonight. The season is winding down so quickly. Just think in less than 3 weeks we will be in the playoffs.

Last night could have gone better, but what the heck, the Angels are leaving mad at the umpires and not us. That's okay.

Didn't like the accusation that the Umps are intimidated by the fans in Boston. I really don't think the Umpires are intimidated by anyone.  They hold the power. They can throw you out of a game, get you suspended maybe even get you banned if you do something bad enough.

Looks like it's going to be a really nice weekend for baseball!

Red Gloves black palms

Home runs, triples, doubles even walks it's the gloves.  Red with black.

Papi has a hot bat. This is the Big Papi we need in September!!David Ortiz doubled in the eighth inning.David Ortiz wanted to be included in the Red Sox home run derby last night. He hit home run No. 23 on the season. In doing so, he tied Frank Thomas with the most home runs hit by a DH with 269.

Great Picture of Mike. Mike Lowell (left) and Kevin Youkilis shared a laugh in the dugout following Lowell's home run.

I just love Larry, I know someone that works for him and he is a really nice guy.In between games, Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino picked up trash in the stands.

I am having a terrible time with my computer at work.  I can get into MLBLogs, but I can't read anyone else, even my own blog. Got to talk to the IT dept.

Welcome back Dice K, great game!

Looks like a good deal!

My personal thoughts are that acquiring Victor Martinez was one of the best moves the Red Sox made this year.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a huge fan of Tek's, I think he is the best calling catcher in major league baseball, but, Martinez can catch, hit and play first base.

I would hate to see Tek not with the team, but perhaps it's time he moved on. Maybe to be a coach for the sox. Iike I said " he is the best pitch calling catcher in the Majors".Victor Martinez and Jason Bay have...

After the rainout, what a great weekend for the Red Sox. Sweeping Tampa Bay.

Looks like Dice K will be retuning this week.

There is a New Hero in Town!
